Another of our beautiful brides – Jayme-leigh and her husband Conner were married in the November of 2022. She chose a trumpet silhoutte gown that combined both lace a soft net fabric.
Jayme-leigh was also one of our 2023 Bride of the Year finalists.
Here’s Jayme-leigh’s story …
“I was incredibly excited and nervous when trying to find a wedding dress, as I’m not classified as “small”. I found this out quite quickly when shopping around for my dream dress, getting told that “we don’t have your size” “nothing here will work” I got quite disheartened very quickly. Until I stepped through the door at Ballgowns Bridal and Beyond.
When growing up we would drive past the shop window and I would dream of going in there, just to have the feeling of being a princess. So, after the previous experiences, I was quite nervous wondering if this would be another shop that doesn’t have anything. I was very wrong, before even entering the store they had a plus sized mannequin displaying a beautiful dress (turns out it was my dream dress). Upon arriving Nadine was warm and welcoming, understanding what I’d gone through with shopping around and straight away easing my mind by showing their plus size selection.
I tried multiple dresses on, and Nadine was incredible and very patient. I decided to ask to try the dress on that was in the shop window, without hesitation they got the dress out, and I was in it, and I fell in love. As it was a fair number of months away from our special day, I didn’t have to order it until later on in the year. However a few months went by and I got an email from Nadine stating the dress designer was closing down and there could be a chance that I might not get my dress however she could sell me the sample dress instore at a discounted rate. She noted how happy and excited I was about the dress, that she had remembered me, hence the email! Her reaching out to me just goes to show that she wants the best for her brides that come into the store!
Once I had purchased the dress, she allowed me to try it on multiple times and went through a step-by-step process showing my aunty and MOH how to tie it up – being incredibly patient through the whole experience!
Ballgowns Bridal and Beyond went above and beyond for me through one of the most stressful times of my life and guided me through it like it was nothing, relieving me of so much stress! I couldn’t have done it without them and
I did get my princess moment in my dress – the one that I always dreamt on having!
Our wedding was a dream come true – truly magical. Not only getting to marry my person, but bringing two families into one was amazing! Lots of love, laughter and tears were shed. Having both my mine and my husband’s interests shown (Batman & Harry potter) in our day was truly amazing. I got to marry my best friend, everything else was just a bonus to have.
